 Time Table – 2025–26


As per the circular, the preparatory examinations will be conducted from 27 January 2026 to 02 February 2026, with 01 February 2026 (Sunday) declared as a holiday. All examinations will begin at 10:30 AM, after the stipulated preparatory period. Students will be provided separate time for reading the question paper, with a total duration of 3 hours and 15 minutes, including 15 minutes for reading.

According to the schedule, First Language subjects such as Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, English, English (NCERT), and Sanskrit will be held on 27 January 2026 for 100 marks. The Mathematics examination, a compulsory core subject, is scheduled on 28 January 2026 for 80 marks. Second Language examinations (English and Kannada) will take place on 29 January 2026, followed by Third Language subjects on 30 January 2026. The Science examination will be conducted on 31 January 2026, and Social Science on 02 February 2026, both carrying 80 marks.

The SOP mandates clear responsibilities for Head Masters, Chief Superintendents, Room Invigilators, and teachers. Strict instructions are issued regarding punctuality, secure handling of question papers, maintaining confidentiality, and enforcing examination discipline. Transparent digital procedures such as OTP-based verification, secure packing of answer scripts, and proper documentation using school codes are emphasized to prevent malpractice.

Special provisions are included for differently-abled students, including the grant of extra time as per prescribed norms. The document reiterates that the examinations must be conducted at the school level, strictly adhering to all guidelines issued by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB).

Overall, the SSLC Preparatory Examination 2025–26 is an important academic exercise designed to assess students’ readiness before the final board examinations. Schools have been instructed to strictly follow the SOP to ensure fairness, uniformity, and smooth conduct of the examinations across Karnataka.
